31.07.2007 Ostava is now a group of six!

Ostava has attracted another member is now a group of six. The new man is the guitarist of German-Bulgarian descent Alexander Marburg. Sasho had lived in Berlin until now, but has moved to Bulgaria recently. He will play rhythm guitar, while Georgi Georgiev will go further towards solo. According to the band, this will contribute to additionally pumped-up sound and more dynamics in the tracks. Vocalist Svilen Noev will also continue participating mostly with acoustic guitar, which combined with the pedal-steel guitar of Michail Shishkov, adds up to four string instruments in Ostava.

11.06.2007 Ostava to support Placebo in Sofia!

It is a pleasure for us to announce that thanks to Joker Media, Ostava will support Placebo before their only concert in Sofia on 18.06.2007. 27.12.2008 DJ Ostava

Two days before New Year’s Eve, Ostava have prepared an unique gift to the fans of quality and interestingly presented music. This time around, the band will surprise the guests of Yalta Club with an attractive and varied presentation – each of the five members will assume the part of a DJ, in order to make a mini-set of his favourite music!

Apart from the set, Ostava will perform unplugged songs from their favourite artists – Radiohead, R.E.M, Oasis, Verve, Blur, Pixies, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Morrissey. All of this will take place in an especially prepared environment in the style of a private party – carpets, many candles, fruit for the guests and sofas under the stage for the musicians – just like you would sit in their home!

10.12.2008 Ostava with three songs in Switched On! Vol. 2

The Ostava songs „We Are Free“, „Sunflower Fields“ and „Will You Come With Me?“ were chosen for the second phase of the project Switched On! UK/BG remix session.

Together with 7 other songs from Bulgarian performers, they will be presented to musicians and producers from the United Kingdom, who will remix them. At the end of February, a workshop on the remix techniques will take place. The project will finish on February 28 with a big party in the capital’s 4 KM Party Centre, where the remixed songs will be presented.

Ostava won the award for „Best rock/alternative song of the decade“ for „Chocolate“ at the MM Awards of the Decade, which took place yesterday.

11.09.2008 MM Music Awards

Ostava walked away with the most statuettes from the MM Music Awards 2008, which were presented yesterday during a ceremony in Yalta Club. Excelling in three categories, the Ostava performers went up on the stage to accept awards for „Best group/duet“, „Best rock/alternative song“ for „Sex in the Morning“ and „Best Bulgarian Video“ for „Sex in the Morning“ under the direction of Valeri Milev.

In the same evening, Ostava received 5 nominations for the MM Awards of the Decade, to take place on October 9 2008 in Hall 1 of NDK.

11.07.2008 Lenny Kravitz chose Ostava

The world-famous rock musician Lenny Kravitz, who arrived in Bulgaria on July 27 2008, chose Ostava to open his concert in Sofia. The rock idol for millions of fans all over the world, whose show will take place on the capital’s „Academic“ stadium, preferred one of the most popular and successful Bulgarian bands to hit the stage before his hot show.

Ostava, who just released their new album „Rock’n'Roll Song Designers?“, will greet „the chocolate idol“ with hits like „Chocolate“, „Will You Come With Me?“ and „Sex in the Morning“, which will make the transition to Lenny Kravitz’s „Love Revolution“ natural and logical. Apart from the songs from his current CD „It Is Time for a Love Revolution“, the „Аre You Gonna Go My Way“ performer has prepared for his Sofia show a storm of world hits, quality rock and a feeling for love.

19.06.2008 „Rock’N'Roll Song Designers?“ out now

„Rock’N'Roll Song Designers?“ is the fourth studio album for Svilen Noev (vocals), Georgi Georgiev (guitar, vocals), Daniel Petrov (drums) and the other members of one of the most popular BG bands. The new production includes the two hit singles „Sex in the Morning“ and „Baby“ plus 8 more tracks in English and one in Bulgarian (“Parallel World“, performed by Joro).

The drums and guitars for the whole album are recorded in Istanbul, while vocals, arrangements, mixing and mastering were done in studio Sound Design, Plovdiv. „Rock’N'Roll Song Designers?“ has all the band’s special features – unique vocal style and much rock energy, plus a more rough sound and music space.

17.06.2008 Ostava to play at the EXIT and Sziget festivals

Ostava will take part in the popular European festivals EXIT (Novi Sad, Serbia) and Sziget (Budapest, Hungary). At EXIT, the band will perform its set on July 13 on the Future Shock scene. The musicians have prepared some of their biggest hits, as well as songs from the forthcoming album „Rock’N'Roll Song Designers?“.

Ostava will also participate in the Hungarian festival Sziget, which is taking place this year on August 12-18 at Obuday Island, Budapest. Svilen Noev and company will get on the stage in the evening of August 16 with a 90-minute set.

16.06.2008 MM dedicates one week to Ostava

MM TV will present a special week, dedicated to Ostava. During the seven days of June 23-29, MM TV will sift through its decade-old archives, in order to show what Ostava went through to become one of the most recognizable Bulgarian bands up to their transformation into „Rock’N'Roll Song Designers“.

The MM viewers will have the opportunity to see live performances, footage and interviews from the time when the biggest music event here was „Rock Explosion“. Also, footage from all appearances of the band on TV through the years. Which are their golden hits, what happened to their drummer, how does „Love in the Times of War“ sound live and „Rock’N'Roll Song Designers“ – acoustic – the viewers will be able to check out all of that from the music television channel. Especially for the most loyal fans, MM will show how do the greatest Ostava moments look through the eyes of the band’s members.

13.06.2008 Ostava with an acoustic live performance of their new album!

On June 19 (Thursday) Ostava will once again hit Yalta Club. After their super successful live concert in early April, the band decided to make their fans happy again, this time with an acoustic concert and premiere of their new studio album, which is released on the same date by Virginia Records.

The Yalta set will last for an hour and a half, while the indie rockers will play their whole new material unplugged. Besides, Ostava will not miss blowing apart their fans with their biggest hits like „Chocolate“, „Will You Come with Me?“, „Monday“, „Sorry“ and „Mini Body“.

Tickets are on presale at eventim.bg and in Yalta Club. Price 10 BGN, starting at 9:30pm.

29.05.2008 I CAN TOO

On June 3 2008, I CAN TOO and Foundation „Troubled Development Children“ invite everyone willing to take part in the Day of open doors at the Medical centre for disabled children in Studentski grad, block 11, Sofia.

In the day of open doors, every one can visit the centre and get acquainted with its occupation, as well as help its completion.

At the moment, the raised funds for the Medical centre for disabled children amount to 35 540 BGN from sponsors as well as from the Foundation I CAN TOO, but its completion needs a total of 180 406 BGN.

We can also take part by buying some of the children’s paintings from the charity exhibition-auction, which starts at 2 pm sharp.
By then, Ostava and D_2 will be lined up to play live.

2 hours earlier, at 12pm sharp, children from the „National Palace of Children“ will paint in the centre and the ten best paintings will be awarded by the musicians.

Meanwhile, adter participating in the initiative „People for I CAN TOO“ with photo session and t-shirts „I CAN TOO“, Ostava continue their support for the Foundation.

31.01.2008 Credit To The Nation

With an unreleased until now song, Ostava will pake part in the compilation „Credit To The Nation“ by Stroeja Club, Vivatel and Jack Daniels. As of now, the set includes 46 bands from 10 countries. The song with which Ostava chose to participate, is the long version of the single „Sex in the Morning“, which hasn’t been publicly presented.

26.03.2009 Ostava to take part in the Third European Club Festival in Berlin

Ostava will present Bulgaria in the Third European Club Night (www.eu-clubnight.de) in Berlin. The initiative will take place on April 24, 2009, in the German capital, under the slogan „Welcome to the club – 5 years of EU expansion, 5 years of new horizons“.

The Berlin clubs will present different club cultures from the countries of the European Union, to embark on an european club scene journey during that night. More than 100 DJs and 20 bands from the 27 EU member states will present their music in 30 Berlin clubs.

In NBI Club, during a one-hour-long set, Ostava will perform some of its most popular songs, supported by another Bulgarian participator – DJ Shakermaker, who will warm up the partygoers with the latest brit-pop/indie hits.

The Third European Club Festival is organized by Clubcommission Berlin with the support of the German Ministry of External Affairs, embassies and cultural institutes.

The charity parties, organised by Chervilo Club for I CAN TOO foundation, charge full steam ahead.

One of the faces of the initiative, Ostava, stand for the cause as guests of Chervilo Club with an acoustic concert on March 26th 2009 at 10:30pm.
Favourites like „Chocolate“, „Ping-Pong“, „Sorry“ and many more will be visualised by multimedia, especially created for the event by DJ Yagama. Behind the table, DJs Doncho and Bobo will warm up the fans with funky house sound.

03.04.2009 4fun.bg U2 party with Ostava

The biggest music portal for legal download in Bulgaria 4fun.bg organizes a party on occasion of the worldwide premiere of the new U2 album. Dedicated to „No Line on the Horizon“, the event will take place on March 4 at 9pm in the capital’s Yalta Club with free admission for all visitors.

The fans will be able to hear for the first time new tracks from the new U2 album, as well as many hits from the Irish band. Ostava will join the party with live performances of favourite U2 songs. Apart from Svilen, behind the microphone will be Denitza and Teodor from Music Idol, while DJ Radi and DJ Face will entertain the guests of Yalta with remixes of the songs.
